Lois Louise Smith, 82, of Orange passed on Saturday, August 3, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. She was native of San Augustine; born on Oct. 24, 1930 to the late Ruthie Arbell (Phelps) and William Griffin Johnson.

She had lived 57 plus years in the Orange area, and was a member of New Anointing Full Gossip Church in Orange. She enjoyed gardening, camping, and canning fruits and vegetables. Lois loved spending time with her family and will be missed dearly by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Rev. JW Smith; daughter, Winona Lois Hamm; brothers, Ken and Edward Johnson.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Jordan and husband, Kirk of Cabot, AR; son, John Smith and wife, Donna of Bridge City; sister, Connie Darby of Houston; grandchildren, Tonya Slaydon, Aaron Willis, Joshua Willis, Sean Willis, Jeremiah Jordan; great grandchildren, Coby Slaydon and Tyler Slaydon. She also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Aug. 5, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ronnie Hennigan officiating. Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park.

Honoring Lois Smith as pallbearers will be Aaron Willis, Joshua Willis, Sean Willis, Coby Slaydon, Tyler Slaydon, and Ken B. Johnson Jr.
