Julia Andrews, 59, of Vidor was found guilty Wednesday afternoon on charges of murder .

She murdered Randy Peddy, 42, of Vidor in November 2012 following an altercation in the 1400 block of Terry Road.

During the trial, it was submitted into evidence Peddy was intoxicated when he threw foundation blocks through the windshield and back window of her vehicle which was parked at her residence.

Andrews retrieved a .22 rifle from her bedroom and fired it three times from her front porch. One of the bullets struck Peddy in the chest. Autopsy reports indicated the bullet struck his heart and spine.

She never denied shooting Peddy, but claimed she feared for her life.

The punishment phase began Wednesday afternoon. Jurors will decide her fate Thursday. She faces up to 99 years or life in prison for the first degree felony.
