OFD fights house fire

The City of Orange Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire Aug. 17, at approximately 9:00 PM at 1009 Cooper Street. First crews on scene reported heavy fire showing from the roof.

Firefighters quickly attacked the fire and completed a primary search of the home, no one was home at the time of the fire. The fire was brought under control in approximately 15 minutes. The cause of the fire is not considered intentional but the actual cause is under investigation.

No injuries were reported, but Acadian Ambulance was on stand-by at the fire scene. The West Orange and Pinehurst Fire Departments were put on stand-by until the fire was under control. The owner of the home and his family were not home and have not been located yet.
