Monday, Aug. 26, at 11:51 pm, the Orange Police Department responded to a report of a car fire at the dead end of Adams Street. Upon arrival officers discovered a 2008 Chevrolet Impala on fire. An officer discovered an unresponsive subject in the front seat of the vehicle and removed him, and the Orange Fire Department extinguished the flames. The subject was transported to Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital Orange where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Subsequent investigation revealed the victim died of a gunshot wound. He was identified as Dominique Marquis Janise, 19 years of age, from Orange.

On Tuesday, Aug. 27, detectives from the Orange Police Department identified a suspect, and obtained a murder arrest warrant for 17 year old Rashawn Dewayne Morris. At approximately 11:30 pm the suspect was arrested and placed in the Orange County Jail.
