The Little Cypress Junior High Football teams played Groves on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at PNG. The seventh grade team lost 20-6. Gavin Ihle scored a touchdown while Jordan Alexander, Hunter McDonald and George Tolliver delivered some good runs. Julian Purgahn and Maxwell Dileo were defensive standouts. The Cubs will take on Central Middle School Tuesday, Sept. 24, at LCJH starting at 4:30 pm.

The eighth grade team achieved their first win with a 46-0 victory to go 1-0. Chris Winters scored three touchdowns, two on offense and two interceptions with one that he ran back for a touchdown. J’Lon Douglas scored two touchdowns with several other great carries and Katon Brown had a great run for a touchdown. Chris Hopkins had some great runs that gave the Cubs good field position. Hunter Angelo had three two-point conversions and Ty’Reke Brown had one two-point conversion.

Defensive standouts were Chris Winters, J’Lon Douglas, Reid Saperstien, Truman Franklin, Chris Hopkins and Victor Davila. The Cubs will be at home Tuesday, Sept. 24, to take on Central Middle School following the seventh grade game at LCJH.
