According to Capt. Cliff Hargrave, Orange Police officers responded to 407 Bilbo at 12.34 a.m. this morning. Officers found the body of Roy James Philmon, 50. It appeared Philmon had been stabbed.

The investigation revealed the suspect in the homicide was the victim’s nephew, Christopher Philmon, 22, who lived at the residence with the victim. The suspect had fled in the victim’s vehicle.

Officers notified surrounding agencies in Texas and Louisiana to be on the look out for the vehicle.

At approximately 9:15 a.m., Christopher Philmon walked into a store on Hwy 290 in Houston and asked the clerk to call the police. He then turned himself in to the Harris County sheriff’s deputy that responded to the scene.
