Dorothy Irene Middlebrooks, 86, of Bridge City, passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at St. Henry Catholic Church in Bridge City, with Father Steve Leger officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Manilla, Philippines on Aug. 16, 1927, Dorothy was the daughter of George A. Goynes and Rosie (King) Goynes. Dorothy was an active member at St. Henry Catholic Church for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James S. Middlebrooks; sons, Stanley, Alan and Mark Middlebrooks; her brothers and sister; and one granddaughter, Robin Middlebrooks.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Lynn Linthicum of Nederland, June Guidry and husband, Dave of San Antonio and Donia Newsom of Bridge City; brother, Fred A Goynes of San Antonio; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
