Joyce Evelyn Bacon Flannigan, 63, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 6, at her residence.  

Joyce was born March 31, 1950 in Orange, to Ed William Bacon and Margaret Sedonia (Griffith) Bacon, she was a lifelong resident of Orange, a homemaker, and she attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Orange.  Joyce was a very outgoing person, she enjoyed playing video games, visiting with family and friends, be it on Facebook, by phone or in person, and she enjoyed spending time with her family.  Among her proudest moments in her life was the day she was able to be present to witness the graduation of her grandson from the Escoffier School of Culinary Arts in Austin, where he graduated with honors.

Joyce is preceded in death by her son, Michael Shannon Duhon, Sr.; her parents; and the father of her children, Melvin Lee Duhon, Sr. 
Those who will most cherish her memory are her daughter, Kimberly Duhon Fairchild; son, Melvin Lee Duhon, Jr.; of Orange; sister, Vera Jeanine Bacon; brothers, Hilton Leonard Bacon, all of Orange, Bill Moody of Canada, and Johnny Collins of Orange; grandchildren, Micah Updike, Subrina Rowsey, Harley and Timber Linscomb, Brenden Duhon, Kaydence and Justin Coursey, Brittany Duhon, Michael and Hunter Duhon, Ethan Duhon, Justyn Harrison, Jordan Doiron, and great grandson, Kayden Michael Duhon Leach.  Joyce is also survived by a host of  nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Services to remember Joyce’s life will be at 4:00 P.M. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Dwight Babcock.  A gathering of Joyce’s family and friends will be from 1:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
