I am Candice Conroy Steele, your Republican candidate for Justice of the Peace – Precinct 3, Orange County. Orange County is comprised of four precincts; each with a Justice of the Peace Court, often considered “The People’s Courts” since these courts are administered by the people, for the people. As one of the people, I will use my experience and hard work to be a firm and fair judge in Precinct 3.

Born and raised a Republican in Orange County, I graduated from Orangefield High School in 1988. I have been married to my husband, Mark Steele Sr. for 9 years and we have three children: my stepson Mark Jr., (age 28) and wife Candice (Kibodeaux), my stepdaughter Jessica (age 25) and husband Josh Tant and our daughter Blake Nicole (age 5). I am a volunteer at Orangefield Elementary School and am an active member of St. Helen Catholic Parish.

After graduating from high school I obtained my Paralegal Certificate at The Center for Advanced Legal Studies – The Paralegal People in Houston. I then earned my Associates degree while working full time and raising a family. I am now only two semesters away from obtaining my Bachelor degree from Lamar University.

As a Paralegal, I have over 25 years in the legal field and have worked on cases ranging from small motor vehicle accidents to multi-million dollar lawsuits. I have gained experience in landlord-tenant matters, civil litigation, and have received exposure in courtroom procedure and protocol. During my years as a Paralegal, I have worked with a large and diverse group of people and have learned valuable skills to oversee the various types of cases and the people who may enter into the People’s Court.

I have always had an extremely strong work ethic and would like to put my skills and experience to work for Precinct 3. Overseeing matters such as Class C misdemeanors, landlord tenant matters and other less serious minor offenses, along with issuing warrants and being “on call” for fatalities, is a full time job. It is my objective to work full time as your Justice of the Peace where I will remain accessible to the citizens of Precinct 3 at all times. My goals are to be a fair and firm judge to all, to enforce your right to a speedy trial and to implement a proven and effective Truancy Program for our community school districts.

As you can see, I am a concerned citizen who would love the honor of serving her community and therefore, it is with a humble, yet enthusiastic heart that I ask for your vote and support in the upcoming election for Justice of the Peace – Precinct 3 – Orange County
