Robert Daniel (Danny) Block passed away at his home in Dallas, Texas on November, 7, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, November 23 at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Visitation is at 2 PM, memorial service at 3 PM with graveside service to follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

Danny was born on January 10, 1969 in Orange, Texas to Margaret Ann Jones Block of Norman, OK and Marvin Jay Block Sr. of Orange. He attended Little Cypress High School where he was a member of the marching band and later graduated in New Orleans. He attended Lincoln College of Technology and completed the master certified automotive technology program. Danny was a hard-working, accomplished diesel mechanic for Estes Express Lines of Dallas. He loved his work and enjoyed the opportunity to grow and learn in the field and to help and support the newer technicians.

Danny touched many lives and made numerous friends everywhere he lived including New Orleans where he developed a passion for Cajun cooking.

One of Danny's greatest joys in life was cooking delicious gourmet meals for family and friends.

In addition to being a superb cook, he was a gifted saxophone player and talented artist.

Danny had such a gentle soul and laid-back nature that animals of all kinds were drawn to him.

He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, water skiing, hunting and fishing.

He was a man who loved life and loved spending time with his family and friends.

His cheerfulness and sense of fun made him an instant favorite with all who knew him.

Danny had a smile that would light up a room.

He was a kind, caring, thoughtful husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

Danny is survived by his parents Margaret Ann Jones Block and Marvin Jay Block Sr .; wife Elizabeth Brandon Block; brother Marvin Jay Block Jr. and wife Tammie Richmond Block, nephew Marvin Jay III (Trae), and niece Carrie Elizabeth; parents-in-law Karen and Paul Barry; step sisters, Jackie Anderson and husband, Jack and Stephanie Vickery and husband, Rocky; step brother, Troy Eyre and wife, Christie and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
