An Orange woman was arrested on charges of shoplifting Tuesday, Nov. 19, after she was caught with several steaks in the Market Basket store on 16th St.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers met with store employees who advised they had Velma Lynette Brady detained inside a vehicle in the parking lot. Officers approached the vehicle and found Brady inside with meat she had taken from the store.

As Brady left the store, the employees observed the buggy she had been using to put the meat in, to be empty.

While officers were checking Brady for warrants through dispatch, it was discovered that she had two prior convictions for theft. She was arrested, and transported to the Orange County Jail.

The value of the meat was placed at $56.27.
