"Puckering up" for a good cause

Little Cypress Elementary second grade teacher, Tammy Snoddy, puckered up for a good cause on Friday, Dec. 13. When the PTO had their fall carnival, the teachers and administrators booth had cans with staff pictures on them and the can that earned the most money “won” the pleasure of getting to kiss a pig.

The morning of the kissing, Snoddy said, “Luckily for me I have a friend, whose boys I taught quite a few years ago, who is raising a little pig as a pet.” In an aside she said, “I hope it's still kind of little, at least.” “I got a message from her saying her husband is giving it a bath this morning and going to spray it with some "good smelling stuff."

During the event in front of the entire student body, Principal Kayla Casey announced that Snoddy would be retiring on Friday, December 20. Her class, with the help of another teacher, Iva Peasley, had prepared a going away story, which Ms. Casey read, and the students each had a part in giving Ms. Snoddy a farewell gift.
