Janice Kennedy Ewing, 78, of Orange passed away at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, Sunday, Dec. 15.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Orange, with the Rev. Lynn Ashcraft officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Oak Grove, LA on April 4, 1935, Janice was the only child of Bradford and Annie (Hill) Harper. She worked in retail for Sears for 15 years, and then afterward went on to school to become a florist. She worked in the floral department for many years at Market Basket. She was a member of North Orange Baptist Church for over 50 years, and loved traveling the world. She always kept herself busy with her needlework, crafts and gardening which she enjoyed.

Preceded in death by her father, Bradford Harper; first husband, James Kennedy and one step grandchild, Janice is survived by her husband of 15 years, Ralph Ewing, Sr.

of Orange and mother, Annie Harper of Orange.

She is also survived by her children and their spouses, Denise Kennedy Broomes, and Hal Broomes of Orange, and Mark and Kim Kennedy of Tomball; step children and their spouses, Dr.

Ralph and Wanda Ewing, Jr.

of Pensacola, FL, Dean and Cathy Ewing of Beaumont, Cindy and Chuck Mulvaney of Orange and Regina and Bobby Ferguson of Orange.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Lindsay and Rick Partridge of Katy and Whitney Grisso of Tomball; great grandchildren, Rylee and Logan Partridge of Katy; five step grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren.
