Lawrence Gilmore, 52, of Orange, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, at his home.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Orange. Burial will follow at Hollywood Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, at the church.

Born in Orange on July 13, 1961, Lawrence was the son of Leonard and Lubertha (Coleman) Gilmore. Lawrence was the groundskeeper at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens and Claybar Funeral Home. He was a first class welder and taught many people how to weld. Lawrence enjoyed freshwater fishing and barbequing for his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ebony Gilmore; sister, Virginia King; and nieces, Coquese King and Laquetta Gilmore.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Donna “Galloway” Gilmore of Orange; daughters, LaDonna Gilmore of Orange and Lela Gilmore and husband, Markee Scott of Huntsville; sons, Lawrence Gilmore, Jr. and Leonard Gilmore, both of Orange; and daughter, Vadasha Williams of Orange.

He is also survived by his granddaughter, Makenzi Scott of Huntsville; siblings, Leonard Gilmore, Jr. and wife Judy of Orange, Willie Edward Gilmore of Amarillo, Charlie Frank Gilmore and wife, Gloria of Orange, Thomas Gilmore of Orange, Luberta Angelle and husband, Morris of Orange, Bessie Johnson of Orange, Joseph Gilmore and wife, Phyllis of Morgan City, La, Geneva Lewis of Orange and Richard Gilmore and wife, Christine of Lafayette, La; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements were held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
