Stormy L. Place, 17, of Orange, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, at her residence.  
Stormy was born on Nov. 19, 1996 in Houston, to Kuuleialoha Mina Place and Matthew Jason Burton. She lived in Orange for the last four months, and previously lived in Groves. She was in the tenth grade at LCM High School, and had previously attended P N – G High School and Groves Middle School. Stormy was extremely well gifted in music, especially the piano and keyboard. She was also an honor student, and she earned a silver medal in bvowling in the Junior Special Olympics. Stormy will be remembered as a loving and kind person who made and left a remarkable impression with many people she met throughout her life. She attended Calvary’s Purchase Church in Orange.
Stormy is preceded in death by her maternal great-grandfather, Robert “ Bobby ” Hebert.
Those who will most cherish her memory are her mother and stepfather, Travis “ Taz “ Welsh of Orange; father, Matthew J. Burton of Spring; numerous grandparents and extended family; second parents and caretakers, Becky and Bob Bruner; sister, Haley Burton; brothers, Phillip Block of Port Arthur, Kevin Burton of Orange and Spencer Place of Spring.  
Stormy will also have her memory cherished by teachers and students in her schools, and many friends she made along her path in life.
A memorial service to remember and honor Stormy’s life will be at 11:00  a.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, at Calvary’s Purchase Church, 8257 Highway 87 North, in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Timothy Linscomb, pastor of the church. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
