Janet Marie Hargrave Shue, 56, of Mauriceville, passed from this life to be eternally united with her Lord, Monday, Feb. 3, at her residence following an illness.

Janet was born Aug. 6, 1957 in Orange, to Ella Marie (Bennet) Hargrave and Leonard William Hargrave.

She graduated from Bridge City High School in 1975, and lived in Mauriceville for the last 36 years.

She had previously lived in Bridge City.

She was a member of the House of Prayer Holiness Church in Mauriceville, and was a homemaker.

Janet loved the Lord with all of her heart; she enjoyed attending church and worship, cooking, sewing and swimming.

Janet’s family says she held a strong belief in being early to arrive and if she were not there early she considered herself late.

In addition to her love for God, there was nothing which would compare to the love and care that Janet had for her family.

She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to so many.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents.

Those who will carry on her legacy, and most cherish her memory are her loving husband, Anthony Allen Shue, Sr.

of Mauriceville; sons, Thomas Shue and wife, Britney of Mauriceville, Philip Shue of Mauriceville, Anthony Allen Shue, Jr.

and wife, Melissa of Mauriceville; daughters, Marcia Moss and husband, Bradley of Mauriceville, Tracy Bean and husband, Jason of Deweyville, Joanna Fontenot and husband, Lee of Mauriceville, Rachel Perry and husband, Adam of Stratford, Ok; brothers, Robert Hargrave and wife, Kim of Pineland, Leonard “ Butch ” Hargrave of Bridge City and Richard “ Dick “ Hargrave and wife, Thresa of Little Cypress; 16 grandchildren, three foster grandchildren, numerous extended family and friends.

Services to honor Janet’s life will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, Feb. 7, at the Faith Assembly of God Church, 390 South Archie Street, in Vidor. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Compton, pastor of the House of Prayer Holiness Church in Mauriceville. Assisting will be the Rev. Les Perry. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow service at The Cemetery in Mauriceville. A gathering of Janet’s family and friends for a time of reflection and sharing will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the church.

Honoring Janet as pallbearers are Anthony Shue, Jr., Thomas Shue, Philip Shue, Brad Moss, Jason Bean, Lee Fontenot and Adam Perry. Honorary pallbearers are Robby Hargrave, Jr., Robert Wayne Hargrave, Travis Darsey, Marcus Moss and Mark Moss.
