Evelyn Rose Nobles, 93, of The Woodlands and longtime resident of Orange, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, in The Woodlands.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Slade Chapel of the First United Methodist Church in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Dan T. Hannon, pastor of Christ Church United Methodist in The Woodlands. Cremation was held under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Greenville, on Oct. 18, 1920, Evelyn was the daughter of Herbert Irving Jones and Mattye (Jennings) Jones. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she participated in the Caring Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Dub” A. Nobles; son, William “Tony” Nobles; grandson, Stephen Jackson; sister, Jeanette Martin; and brother, Jennings Jones.

Evelyn is survived by her daughters, Nancy Rodd and husband, Robert of the Woodlands, LouAnn Wiggins and husband, John of Quinlan; son, David Scott Nobles of the Woodlands; grandchildren, William Scott Jackson and wife, Melissa, Michael Allen “Mike” Jackson and wife, Traci, John A. Wiggins, Brent T. Wiggins; and eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 502 N 6th Street, Orange, Texas 77630, Christ Church United Methodist, 6363 Research Forest Drive, The Woodlands, Texas 77381, or Harbor Hospice of Central Houston, 8303 Southwest Fwy #960, Houston, Texas 77074.
