Wilson Trahan, 89, of Orange passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Harbor Hospital in Beaumont.
He was born on July 5, 1924 in Abbeville, La., to parents Eugenia (Touchette) and Oscar Trahan. He had lived in the Orange area for 60 plus years. Wilson was a blacksmith with Livingston Shipyard for 32 years, and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Wilson loved playing the harmonica, going to horse races and training them.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years in 2005, Ozite Trahan; son, Billy Trahan; parents, and 16 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Earl Trahan and wife, Patricia of Little Cypress, Roger Trahan and wife, Betty of Vinton, Ricky Trahan and wife, Ludy of West Orange, Robert Trahan of Orange. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Ranell Bray, Shannon Trahan, Brandi Conn, Amanda Forester, Brandy Psencik, Kim Back, Renee Delano, Kelly Trahan, Brett Trahan, Seth Trahan, Gillum Arnold; great grandchildren, Kaylee Bray, Aiden Delano, Keagan Trahan, Taylor Trahan, Gabriel Back, Logan Back, Arlana Delano, Brandon Delano, Makayla Delano, one on the way, Kinsley Trahan, and additional two great granddaughters.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 21, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm, at Dorman Funeral Home, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A Christian burial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home, with Deacon Melvin Payne officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Orange.
