Two men arrested for possession of meth

Tuesday, March 11, Detectives with the Orange County Special Services Division were in the 2600 block of S. Lutcher in Orange when they observed a truck with defective lighting equipment.

The officers stopped the vehicle at about 8:45 pm, when it pulled into a parking lot of a nearby gas station. The driver failed to show a driver’s license and was detained. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 25 grams of methamphetamine.

The driver, 26 year old Justin Keith Martin, of Orange, and John Mason Edwards, also 26, of Bridge City were both arrested for possession of a controlled substance, which is a second degree felony offense. Both were transported to the Orange County Jail.

Justice of the Peace David Peck arraigned both men at 8:45 Wednesday, and set their bonds at $50,000 each. Both men remain in custody.
