Last updated 3/20/2014 at Noon

The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a dry and pleasant Friday, with lows in the upper 40's to lower 50's and highs in the 70's.

However, this weekend looks to turn wet again, with the threat for showers and thunderstorms Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning. The threat for severe storms looks very low at this point.

Lingering rain will extend into Monday and even early Tuesday, before drying out by mid-week. Temperatures next week will be below normal, with lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s.
