Joan Elaine Golemon, 71, of Deweyville passed away on March 22, at her residence.

Joan was born on Feb. 7, 1943 in Beaumont, to Irene Marie (Dozier) and James Arvie Keel. She worked as an LVN for many years at MASH in Beaumont, and Baptist Hospital Orange.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry D. Golemon, Sr.; and siblings, Jamie Keel, and Jean Beard.

She is survived by her four children, daughter, Tonya Burch and husband, Norman of Orange; daughter, Laurie Barnes of Bridge City; son, Larry Golemon Jr. and wife, Bobbie of Deweyville; and daughter, Teri Golemon and partner, Dev Tozer of Deweyville. She also leaves precious memories with eight grandchildren and their spouses, as well as 13 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Dorman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 26, at 10:00 am at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Fortenberry officiating. Burial will follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg.

The Golemon family would like to thank River City Hospice for the compassion and care, as well as the many friends and loved ones who have comforted us in our time of sorrow.

Honoring Mrs. Golemon as pallbearers are Kevin Golemon, Brent Burch, Chase Burch, Josh Spell, A.J. Sterner and Cane Katchik. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Dronet, Norman Burch, Braydon Sims, Colt Katchik and Ryder Strickland.
