On March 13, the Texas Commission on Jail Standards conducted their annual inspection of the Orange County Correctional Facility.

The Jail facility received a Certificate of Compliance and, according to the Inspector, the facility has demonstrated that it is in compliance with Texas Minimum Jail Standards.

According to a letter to Sheriff Keith Merritt from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards, the Certificate of Compliance demonstrates the outstanding leadership and diligent work of the jail staff in complying with the minimum jail standards. In addition, this achievement is a direct result of the office’s commitment to excellence and is an example of dedication and professionalism in maintaining a safe, secure, and sanitary facility.

Sheriff Merritt congratulated and thanked the entire jail staff for their hard work and dedication to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the citizens.
