Lamar University will honor military personnel and first responders during this weekend’s Southland Conference softball series between the Lady Cardinals and Houston Baptist at Ford Park.

All military personnel in uniform or with a valid ID will be admitted free to Saturday’s 3:00 p.m. doubleheader. There will be special first-pitch ceremonies, and military-themed music will be played throughout the day. The Lady Cardinals will wear specially designed camouflage jerseys for both games of Saturday’s doubleheader.

All police, fire and EMT personnel in uniform or with a valid ID receive free admission to Sunday’s 2:00 p.m. contest. Once again, there will be a special first-pitch ceremony to recognize the first responders in attendance.

The Lady Cardinals enter the weekend tied for second place in the Southland Conference with a 7-4 record, one game behind McNeese State. Houston Baptist is a half-game behind Lamar with a 7-5 conference record.

For ticket information, call (409) 880-1715, or visit www.LamarCardinals.com. Tickets are available at the Montagne Center ticket office from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. weekdays. Tickets are available at Ford Park on a cash-only basis one hour prior to first pitch.
