Arthur Lee Skipper, 81, of Bridge City, died Wednesday, April 2, at his home.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 5, at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City. Officiating will be the Rev. Jeff Bell of Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Shiloh Cemetery in Kipling, La.

Visitation will be from 9:00 until 10:00 a.m., Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City.

Born in Picayune, Ms, on Nov. 8, 1932, Arthur was the son of Willie Joseph Skipper and Irene (Kelly) Skipper. At the age of 13 he moved to DeRidder, La. After graduating from DeRidder High School he joined the United States Air Force. Arthur served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1956 in the Air Force Band where he was stationed in Tokyo and Okinawa, Japan and then moved to Bridge City. Arthur retired from KJAC-TV after working there for almost 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Joe Skipper of Lake Charles; and sister, Lillie Ruth Skipper Cooley of DeRidder.

Arthur is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delores Reid Skipper of Bridge City, and his son; Gary Lee Skipper of DeRidder.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Skipper, Craig Cooley, Dwayne Cooley, Steven Womack, Douglas Robare, and Steve Simmons.
