Lawrence P. Miller, 89, from Mauriceville, and former longtime resident of Bridge City, passed away Tuesday April 1, at the Medical Center in Port Arthur.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 4. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Bridge City, with the Rev. Lynn Ashcraft, and Mr. Darrell Segura officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Derrick Miller, John Tyler Sargent, Bryan Woodson, Randi Duncan, Charles Weaver and Al Parker. Honorary pallbearers will be Zeb Platt, David Burnham, and the Deacons of First Baptist Church in Bridge City.

Born in Minden, LA, on Dec. 4, 1924, Lawrence is the son of John Miller and Lela “White” Miller. He was an active gardener, and fixed everything from appliances to mowers to automobiles. Lawrence was a very loving family man and a strong Christian throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three brothers and two sisters.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Marie Linder Miller; children, Debra Jean Buesinger from Houston, and Steven Paul Miller and his wife, Sandy from Mauriceville; grandchildren, Laura Buesinger Parker and husband, Al, Ashley Miller Woodson and husband, Bryan, Derrick Miller and wife Ryan, Sierra Sargent Duncan and husband, Randi, and John Tyler Sargent and wife, Pam; great-grandchildren, Addyson Bolton, Hunter Sweeney, Alayna Duncan and Kate Sargent; siblings, J.P. Miller, Faye Miller, Ruth Platt, Helen Weaver, and Floy Linder.
