Malcolm Kenneth “ Booger “ Slaydon, Jr., 58, of Orange, passed from this life on Monday, March 31, at his residence.

Born Oct. 20, 1955 in Kinder, La., to Malcolm Kenneth Slaydon, Sr. and Mattie Elois (Cole) Slaydon, he was a lifetime resident of Orange. He was of the Christian faith, and he played the drums as a musician in the area. Malcolm enjoyed the gardening of flowers, drawing and art, recycling and spending time with his family.

Malcolm is preceded in death by his father; and those who will cherish his memory most are his mother, Mattie Cole Slaydon and her companion, Johnny Perkins both of Orange; sisters, Tina Slaydon King of Orange, Carol Ware and husband, Leland of Longville, La., and Linda Richardson of Deweyville; and brother, Lonnie Cooper and wife, Lainy of Deweyville. In addition, Malcolm is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family that he loved very much.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 5, at the Magnolia Baptist Church, 1922 Magnolia Church Road, Ragley, La. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at Dorman Funeral Home in Orange.
