Orbia B. Stephens

Orbia B. Stephens, 83, of Orange, passed away on Saturday, April 19, at home in Orange.

Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. Bobby Hoffpauir of Second Baptist Church in Bridge City. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Born in Whitewright, TX., on July 18, 1930, he was the son of Claude Stephens and Irline (Blanton) Stephens. Orbia was a proud member of the United States Air Force, and the HAM Radio Operator Club until Hurricane Ike. He worked as an accountant for Temple Inland, until he retired; he also volunteered with the literacy program of Orange.

Orbia is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bethel Stephens, and daughter, Rebecca Stephens.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa and husband Ron Swiderski of Orange; granddaughters, Madison Swiderski and Sarah Swiderski; and sister, Dorothy Wann of Ozona, TX.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Venable, Larry Swiderski, Ron Swiderski, Donald Neff, E.J. McKay, and Glen Aldredge.
