Glenn Ray Pearson, 80, went to be with Jesus on Sunday afternoon, April 27, at his home on Toledo Bend Lake.

Glenn devoted his life to his Lord, his family, and education. Though he touched thousands of lives, he will be most missed by his devoted wife of 62 years, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his beautiful wife, Annie, of Hemphill; daughters Terri Webb and husband Ken, of Hemphill, and Paula Pearson, of Hemphill; grandchildren, Brandon and Allison Barton, of Arlington, Spencer and Shannon Smith, of Katy, David and Maisie Benoit, of Port Neches, and Devin and Liz Jones of Hemphill, and his four great-grandchildren, Avaree Grace Barton, Bryer Ray Jones, Felicity Aria Barton, and Evyn Pearson Smith. He is also survived by his brother, James Pearson, and sister-in-law Ruby of Dallas.

Glenn wore many hats in his life. He was a coach, a mentor, a friend, a deacon, a mid-shipman, a college basketball player, a superintendent, a teacher, a gardener, and so much more, but his greatest legacy will forver fill the hearts of those that lovingly call him Grandaddy.

Mr. Pearson was currently superintendent of the Hemphill Independent School District. During his service as superintendent at Hemphill, he accomplished many building projects, the last being the new elementary school which is under construction at this time. He will be missed both as a gentleman and administrator.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, April 29, in the Starr Funeral Home, 510 Starr St., Hemphill.

Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, April 30, in the HISD Athletic Complex, Sabine St., Hemphill. Burial will be in the Harper Chapel Cemetery, Hemphill.
