Archie D. Conley, Sr., 78, of Orange, passed away on May 23, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 26, at North Orange Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Bankerd. Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.

Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Monday at the church, prior to the service

Born in Lena Station, La, on Nov. 20, 1935, Archie was the son of Fred and Mary (Riggs) Conley. He was the owner of Archie’s Saw Sharpening Shop and was a member of North Orange Pentecostal Church for 64 years.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Erbes; grandson, Phillip Dwain Conley, Jr; and brother, Ellis Arthur.

Archie is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Conley; sons, Archie D. Conley, Jr of Orange, and Phillip D. Conley and wife Terry of Austin; and grandchildren, Amanda Porter, Anthony Erbes, Deanna Conley.

He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Deveena Porter, Alma Porter, and Zane Conley; brothers, Fred A. Conley, Belton Arthur, and Thomas Talbert; and sisters, Phyllis Martin and Kathy Murray.
