Samuel Gasaway, Jr., 78, of Vidor, died Saturday, May 31, at his residence.

A native of Paducah, KY., Samuel was a longtime resident of Vidor, and a retired self-employed Master Plumber/Electrician, and owner-operator of Economy Plumbing in Vidor. Samuel served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, at Memorial Funeral Home.

Samuel was preceded in death by his son Jesse Leon Gasaway; daughter Regina Kittner; parents Samuel and Mary Gasaway, Sr., and his brother Charles Scott.

Samuel is survived by his wife Margie Gasaway of Vidor; sons J D Gasaway of Bossier City, LA., Mark Allen Gasaway, John William Gasaway, both of Vidor, and Kenneth McRay of Rockport, FL.; daughters Rebecca Kay Gasaway of Quinlan, TX., Sharon Patricia Gasaway of Vidor, Beth Resha of Mauriceville, and Tiffiny Maurer of Vidor; brother Ralph Gasaway of Louisville, KY.; sister Lillian Clark of Evansville, IN.; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
