Woman held in fatal shooting

Monday evening, at approximately 10:06 pm, Orange County Sheriff's deputies responded to the 6900 block of Swisher St. in Mauriceville, in reference to a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found 42 year old Natalie Jeanne Little with a gunshot wound to her head. The victim was still alive when medical personnel arrived on the scene. She was transported to the hospital where she died shortly after arrival.

Deputies located the suspect in the shooting, 40 year old Amanda Lee Parker, at a residence in the 7800 block of Roger St. The home is in the same neighborhood as the Swisher St. residence where the victim was shot. Deputies said that Parker chased a female resident from the Swisher St. residence to a neighbor's house in the 7800 block of Roger St. When the woman told the neighbors she was being chased, they called 911.When Parker followed the woman into the neighbor's home, the residents were able to restrain Parker and hold her until deputies arrived.

The suspect was detained, and detectives remained on scene gathering statements from several witnesses. The cause of the shooting is still under investigation.

Parker is being held on a one million dollar bond.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification family.
