In an ongoing effort to improve safety and relieve congestion, the Texas Transportation Commission has approved $140,492.90 to install a right turn lane on SH62 in Orange County. APAC-Texas, Inc. was awarded the project that will add a turn lane at FM1078.

“Safety is our number one goal at TxDOT,” said Tucker Ferguson, TxDOT district engineer for the Beaumont District. “Adding this turn lane will make it safer for those turning in and out of FM1078 as well as relieve congestion.”

Construction is expected to begin by late fall.
