Valinda Welch, 58, of Beaumont died Sunday, Aug. 17, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. She was a native and lifelong resident of Mauriceville.

Valinda was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor, and was a respiratory therapist. She was a volunteer Fire Fighter in Glenn Heights.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 20, from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, with a memorial at 4:00 pm at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor.

Valinda was survived by her sons Michael Lucia of Mauriceville, Sam Lucia of Baytown; mother Nelva Freeman of Vidor; father Pete Welch of Deweyville; brothers Kent Welch of Buna, Randy Welch of Suffield, OH; sister Vanessa Simmons of Vidor, and 6 grandchildren.
