Kenneth Wayne St. John went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Beaumont. Kenneth was born on June 19, 1941 in Ragland, Al., to Tillman and Beatrice St. John.

Kenneth graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Port Arthur in 1958. He served his country for four years in the United States Coast Guard. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic for Bayer Rubber Plant, in Orange, and retired after 32 years of service in 1998. He was a member of Circle Drive Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to everyone he came in contact with.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, Tillman and Beatrice St. John, loving daughter, Cheryl Ann St. John, one brother, Roger Dale St. John and two sisters, Geraldine Barber and Shelby Jean Newton.

Kenneth is survived by his loving and caring wife, Carol Ruth (Ackerman) St. John of 54 years; one daughter, Karen Ruth St. John of Mauriceville; grandsons, Matthew and his wife Maria St. John of Wellington, Fla, David and his wife Tasha Heid of Bridge City, Brody Bellett of Carthage, and one granddaughter, Jennifer Warden of Vidor. Great-grandchildren, Soraya St. John, Landen St. John, Tyler Heid, Emily Heid, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 11:00 a.m. at Circle Drive Baptist Church in Bridge City. Bro. Kevin Hardesty, and Bro. Jack Comer will officiate the Memorial Service. A reception and luncheon will follow the service in the Activity Building at Circle Drive Baptist Church.
