Orangefield Junior High hosted the Newton Eagles on Thursday night and came away 1-1. The 7th grade lost 22-6. The offensive standouts for the Bobcats were offensive tackle Colby Gonzales, who did an outstanding job paving the way for Cade Grozier to score the only Bobcat touchdown of the game. Gonzales also stood out on defense along with Jacob Harvey, Chase Broussard, and Jag Gray.

The 8th grade picked up the win, by a score of 14-12, improving their record to 3-0. The offensive standouts for the Bobcats were quarterback James Freeman scored a rushing touchdown, a two point conversion, and threw a touchdown to Johnny Armstrong. Mason Gonzales also added a two point conversion. Gonzales, like his little brother, also played well defensively. Lane Rach and Tyrone Waggoner also stood out defensively, but the star of the night was Kyle Pickard who made the game clinching interception. The Bobcats will play again when they travel to Hamshire-Fannett on Tuesday.
