Cupal Jeanette Morgan, 78 of Bridge City passed away on Friday, Oct. 10, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas, in Port Arthur.

Cupal was born on Aug. 7, 1936 in Orange, to Jules and Sadie Carpenter. Affectionately known as “MeeMaw” by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren she was widely considered to be one of the prettiest ladies to ever come out of Orange, …especially in the opinion of her husband, Coy. She took great pride in her family and enjoyed playing games, reading and doing cross-word puzzles. She will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers R. D. Carpenter, Sam Carpenter, Jimmy Carpenter, Larry Carpenter, Ray Carpenter and Eddie Carpenter; and sisters Betty Hitchcock, Gerry McDaniel, June Jaindl & Dolly Carpenter.

Survivors include husband Coy Morgan of Bridge City; sons Randy Morgan and wife Melissa of Houston, Kevin Morgan and wife Diane of Tiki Island; and daughter, Missy Morgan of Groves. She was loved and also mourned by granddaughter Stormi Morgan; grandsons Keaton Stanley, Conner Morgan and Kyle Morgan; great-granddaughters Kenzi Trahan and Kloe Morgan; brothers Penny Carpenter and wife Cassandra of Bridge City, Johnny Carpenter of Bridge City, Jaycee Carpenter and wife Avis of Orange; sisters Violet Trammell and husband Howard of Lumberton and Joy Bergeron and husband Frankie of Orangefield, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

She will be cremated at the direction of Claybar Funeral Home, and a “Celebration of Life” remembrance for family and friends will be held at her residence, 361 Roberts St., Bridge City, on Saturday, Oct. 18, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
