William Swinburn

William Swinburn, 90, of Orange, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, from complications following a stroke.

He was born in Schuylkill County, Pa., to Robert William Swinburn and Loretta Prynn Swinburn on March 23, 1924, and grew up in Frackville, Pa. He had lived in Orange since 1957.

Mr. Swinburn was a veteran of the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was a Boy Scout leader in Orange, and worked at Cities Service Oil Company in Lake Charles, for 24 years as a machinist and Maintenance Supervisor. He was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Theresa Tingco Swinburn; two sons, David Swinburn and wife Gina of Vinton, and Jay Swinburn of Orange; one daughter, Loretta Dawson of Las Vegas.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Marjorie, his brother Ted and sister Lottie, and one son, Robert.

He will be cremated, under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home.

A remembrance gathering for friends and relatives will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at his residence, 5116 Westmore Ave., in Orange.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of The Meadows in Orange for their care and consideration during his stay there.
