The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has added Alfredo Rangel, 37, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list, and a cash reward up to $7,500 is now being offered for information leading to his arrest. He has a violent criminal past, and is wanted for parole violation, larceny and engaging in organized criminal activity. All tips can be offered anonymously.

Rangel has ties to Laredo, and is suspected of being associated with the Texas Mexican Mafia gang. He has previously been employed at used car dealerships. His criminal history includes aggravated assault of a public servant, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

In 2000, Rangel and two accomplices were involved in a violent assault on a DPS trooper during a traffic stop that occurred near Cotulla, Tx. For more information and updates in the event of his arrest, see his wanted bulletin at:

Rangel is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has a scar above his right eye and another on his stomach; and a mole above his right eye.

Texas Crime Stoppers, which is funded by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division, offers cash rewards to any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of the Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives or sex offenders.
