Jerry Kirkmeyer, 85, of Orange, passed away Oct. 25, at his home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at Sycamore Cemetery in Burkeville.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Born in Port Arthur, Aug. 31, 1929, he was the son of Charles Rudolph Kirkmeyer and Mabel Orr Kirkmeyer. Jerry served in the United States Army, was a 32nd Degree Mason, with Scottish Rites. He enjoyed offshore fishing, going to the beach and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

He was preceded in death by his daughters, Teresa Kirkmeyer, Laurie Patrice Kirkmeyer and grandson, Christopher King Kirkmeyer.

He is survived by his wife, Meredith Kirkmeyer of Orange; daughters Merri Latiolais and husband Denny of Bridge City, Tracee Kanipe and husband, Bob of Texarkana, Tx., and Candace Ellis and husband, Steven of Odessa; grandchildren, Jessica Melancon and husband, Jarred, Kasey Smith, Stormi Wales, Slade Wales, Hunter Wales, Christopher Ponder, Court Ellis and Ethan Ellis; great-grandchildren, Jason Melancon, Jaxson Melancon, Keaton Wales and Kynsli Edelen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Cemetery Association Inc., P.O. Box 1101, Kilgore, Texas 75663-1011.
