Vallie Sue (Whitman) Francis, 74, of Orange passed away Thursday, Oct. 30, surrounded by her loving family.

Vallie was born July 5, 1940, in Nederland, to Oral "Babe" Lemuel Whitman and Bernice Rachel (Harmon) Whitman. She was a lifelong resident of Orange, was the fourth generation of the Harmon family settling in Orange. She was owner and operator of Vallie's Hair Fashions for forty plus years in West Orange. Vallie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of the Orange Ward. She enjoyed doing genealogy, traveling with her husband and friends, and spending time with her family. Vallie was a loving person who will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy Jean Williamson, Peggy Elaine Fare; brothers in law, Joe Robert Williamson and Lon Egan.

Vallie is survived by her husband, Joe Francis of Orange; children, Lem Francis and wife, Christi of Fannett, Missy Aucoin and husband, Gregory of Lake Charles, Scott Francis and wife, Beverly of Orange, Fara Francis of Denton; sister, Janet Egan of Orange; brother, Dwight Whitman and wife Brenda of Nacogdoches. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Chris Francis and fiance, Jen Kralj, Brittany Keller and Jeremy, Savannah Tonga and Timani Jr., Anna Nicole Aucoin, Kalee Aucoin, Dwight Lewis, Adriana Francis, Madison Aucoin, Ty Lewis, Hannah Francis, Evan Aucoin, MaKennah Aucoin, Lindy Aucoin, Lela Francis; great granchildren, Zoe Roberts, Sophie Howard, Landon Aucoin and Saylor Keller.

A funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Orange. Burial followed at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

Honoring Vallie as pallbearers were Chris Francis, Tige Egan, Eddie Egan, Cazzy Francis, Jeremy Keller, Roger Dale Brodnax, Evan Aucoin, Ty Lewis, Dwight Lewis, Timani Tonga Jr. and Amos Wilfer. Honorary pallbearers were David Whitman, Rory Williamson, Ricky Dumesnil.
