The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that it has named Kenneth Dupuis as the Grand Parade Marshal for this years 6th Annual Christmas Light Parade. The announcement was made at the Chamber’s November networking coffee held at Bridge City Animal Hospital. Mr. Dupuis was presented the award by Chamber President and Parade Chairman Lucy Fields.

Mr. Dupuis owns one of Bridge City’s oldest businesses, Dupuis Tire, which has been a part of Bridge City’s history for 73 years, and established by his father Paul Dupuis.

Kenny Dupuis was born with motor oil in his veins and grew up with grease under his fingernails.

He began working at his father’s station at the age of 10.

By the age of 14, he was taking his lunch break at school to relieve his dad at the station.

He was making 50 cents an hour by waiting on customers, restocking the oil, cleaning up the station and doing just about anything else that needed doing.

When he graduated from high school in 1963, he was making $1.25.

Paul retired from the business in 1967.

Kenny bought the company from his father and has operated the business since then.

Dupuis Tire has an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and was nominated for Business of the Year 2013 by the Bridge City Chamber. They have participated in many Chamber functions including the gift certificate program for Businesses of the Month for many years as well as contributing to numerous other community activities. They help the handicapped and elderly whenever possible. Mr. Dupuis has employees that have been with him for twenty plus years which speaks volumes about his management of Dupuis Tire. The Bridge City Chamber is honored to have Mr. Dupuis as our Parade Marshal for the 2014 Bridge City Chamber Christmas Light Parade.
