Mobiloil Credit Union has announced Wednesday, Nov 12, as the date for the Grand Opening of the new Vidor branch, located at 1100 N. Main.

The celebration will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a Vidor Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting, as well as coffee and donuts for all attendees. There will be links and drinks for lunch with games, giveaways and face painting for children. There will also be registrations for all kids to enter for a chance to win a Razor Ripster and for adults to win a Weber Gas Grill. At 4:00 p.m. the time capsule, built by students of Vidor High School Building Trades, will be officially sealed. It won't be opened again until Nov. 12, 2035.

The new Lucky 7 checking account will be available only at the Vidor branch until Friday, Nov 14. Members can earn up to $329 when they open a new Lucky 7 Checking Account and choose from seven services. In addition, members can take advantage of a 0.5 increase on 3-5 year certificates during the Vidor Grand Opening week. Through the end of the year, members can also take advantage of auto loan rates for new or used vehicles as low as 1.75 annual percentage rate, and new credit cards with an introductory annual percentage rate of 2.99 for the first six months.

With the opening of the Vidor branch, Mobiloil Credit Union now has eight locations in Southeast Texas to serve their over 41,000 members.

Bob Hamer, CEO of Mobiloil Credit Union, said "While it may appear that our new Vidor branch has come about in just a few short months since our July groundbreaking, it has actually been in the planning stages for about three years." Bob added, "We made the decision to come to Vidor and began looking for property in the right location on which to build before we opened our Lumberton branch.

This beautiful new facility is the end result of all the planning and development that has taken place, and we are excited to have our newest branch in Vidor to better serve our Orange County members."

Tina Ponton is the Branch Manager of Mobiloil Credit Union in Vidor and brings over 12 years of managerial experience to the position. "I am extremely thrilled and honored to serve as the New Vidor Branch Manager," Tina said. "I look forward to a bright future with Mobiloil Credit Union and feel that I have joined their team at an exciting time." Tina is a Texas Tech University graduate with a degree in Business Science and brings banking, real estate and managerial experience to the table to help members with all their financial needs.
