The Symphony of Southeast Texas (SOST) presents its third annual holiday concert at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, at the Julie Rogers Theatre in Beaumont. “Home for the Holidays” is a great way to celebrate the yuletide season with family and friends and features popular seasonal songs performed in grand style by the orchestra.

The holiday concert is a joyful celebration of the season and even includes a holiday carol sing-a-long, which is always an audience favorite. “Hallelujah Chorus,” “The Bells of Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland” and more classics are included in this family-friendly and heartwarming way to capture the essence of the season.

“We try to make this concert fun, memorable, and make it a tradition that families can attend each year for many years to come,” said SOST Music Director Chelsea Tipton, II. “This is probably my favorite concert of the season because it is a time for the community to come together and have a beautiful musical experience during the holidays.”

First United Methodist Church and Calder Baptist Church choirs will join the SOST in this joyous performance, along with guest soloist Peggy Starnes. The Golden Triangle Handbell Ensemble will also perform with the orchestra adding a lovely shine to the afternoon performance.

Immediately following the concert, guests are invited to a reception in the Julie Rogers Theatre Lobby featuring delectable desserts and a candy bar for young Symphony fans.

The holiday concert is not part of the SOST season subscription package. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. To purchase tickets or get more information, go to www.sost.org or contact the Symphony office at (409) 892-2257.

“Home for the Holidays” is co-sponsored by American Valve and Hydrant and Dunham-Hallmark, PLLC. The holiday concert reception is sponsored by Calder Woods Senior Living Community.

The Dec. 7 concert will be the grand finale in a weekend-long series of events kicking off the holidays in downtown Beaumont.
