Clifford "Cliff" Joseph Benoit, 71, of Hemphill, died Monday at his home in the El Camino Bay community near Hemphill.
Cliff was born in Port Neches, to Clifford and Edith Broussard Benoit. He worked as an electrical instrumentation engineer for INE. Cliff moved to Hemphill 21 years ago from Bridge City after retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Littleton Fowler Lodge #305 in Hemphill. Cliff had served in the U.S. Air Force and always had a love for music, playing in several bands throughout his life.
Cliff is survived by his wife of 41 years Regina "Dollie" Ellender Benoit of Hemphill; son Vance "Bubba" Benoit of Utah; daughters, Anna Lisa Hughes of Mauriceville, Shannon Willis of Lake Charles, Angela Swanson of Los Angles, CA; brother Courtney Benoit of Nederland; sister Gloria Bean of Alabama; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, and his uncle Anthanase "Junior" Benoit of Bridge City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Rodney Benoit.
Funeral services were Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Starr Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation followed services under the direction of Starr Funeral Home.
