John Raymond Holm, 80, of Orange, passed away Dec. 24, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Dec. 29, at First United Methodist Church in Orange with the Rev. John Warren officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Born in Great Falls, Mt., Aug. 6, 1934, John was the son of Carl Holm and Charlotte Burger Holm. He was a retired civil engineer with Fittz and Shipman Consulting Engineers in Beaumont. He was a licensed professional engineer in over 30 states.

John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Orange where he had served on various church committees. Most recently he served as an usher and was a 32nd degree Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Leigh Varn.

He is survived by his wife, Beth Ramsey Holm of Orange; daughter, Amy McKinney and husband, Marlin of Fulshear; sons, Louis Leflore and wife, Theresa of Hickory, NC and Wallace Leflore and wife, Dianne of Greenville, SC; brother, Carl Holm and wife Kathy of Bella Vista, Ar; grandchildren, Sam Leflore, Ben Leflore, Elissia Varn, Reed McKinney, Matthew McKinney and Jon Luc Leflore.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 502 North 6th St., Orange, TX 77630 or to The Alzheimer Association,700 North St., Beaumont, TX 77701.

Services are under the direction of Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.
