Weather service expecting colder, dry weather

The National Weather Service in is expecting colder but dry weather through the end of the work week, before precipitation is expected this weekend.

Low temperatures tonight will range from 32 to 40, with the colder temperatures in central Louisiana, the warmer ones along the I-10 corridor. High temperatures on Wednesday will be 45 to 50.

It will be colder Wednesday night/Thursday morning, with lows in the lower 20s in east Texas, and mid 20s along the I-10 corridor from southeast Texas to southwest and south central Louisiana. The high temperatures on Thursday will only make it to the upper 30s to around 40.

Thursday night/Friday morning will see temperatures at or below freezing in most areas, ranging from the mid 20s in central Louisiana, to 30-32 F along the I-10 corridor of southeast Texas to southwest and south central Louisiana. The high temperatures will warm into the 40s on Friday.

Looking towards the weekend, low temperatures for Friday night/Saturday morning will be in the 30-35 range area-wide. There is also a small chance (20%) of rain in southeast and east Texas. At this point we do not expect any widespread freezing rain or sleet, because of the low probabilities.

Highs on Saturday will be in the 40s, and it will be wet and rainy. No frozen precipitation is expected during the day.
