Bennie “Penny” Wheat, 81, of Orange passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Jan. 12.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm, Friday, Jan. 16, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be Brother Lanny Wheat. Entombment will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm, Thursday, Jan. 15, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange.

Mrs. Wheat was born in Houston March 31, 1933 to the late Carl and Elsie (Ellis) DeForke. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend. She enjoyed fishing, playing bingo with friends, and watching Judge Judy. Most of all, she loved spending time with Bill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Francis Wheat and brothers, Lee DeForke and Carl DeForke, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Ernest Miller, Jr. and wife, Ramona, Terry Allen Wheat and wife, Jamie and Dianna Miller Sales and husband, Tim; grandchildren, Sean P. Miller, Jake Allen Wheat, Ashley Cameron Wheat, Justin Menard, Jenny Menard Daigle, Sawyer Sales, Roman Sales, Madison Nicole Kay and Brayden Hunter Smith; great-grandchildren, Olivia Quinn, Allie, Kaleb, Kaydence, Nora, Hali and Jacy.
