Helen Fay Luna, 82, of Orange, passed away, Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Baptist Hospital of Southeast Texas in Orange with her family by her side.

Born Nov. 10, 1932 in Quinlan, to Stella (Monk) Norris and A. B. Norris, she lived in Orange since 1957, and had previously lived in Dallas. She was a member of the Little Cypress Baptist Church in Little Cypress and was a homemaker. Helen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was very strong willed, loved the Lord and took very good care of her family. Helen enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her canasta group. Later in life, she and her husband had a love and passion for bluegrass music and festivals.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; son in law, Wayne Allamon and seven of her brothers and sisters.

Those who will most cherish her memory are her husband of 66 years, Ardith V. “ Art ” Luna of Orange; daughter, Cathy Allamon of Little River Academy, TX .; sons, Cody Luna and wife, Melody of Orange and David Luna and wife, Robyn of Plano; sisters, Lorene Trammell of Mansfield, and Alamarie Jones and Joyce Jacks, both of Dallas; seven grandchildren, Jeffery Allamon and wife, Angie, Jeremy Allamon and wife, Susan, Misti Brooke Odom and husband, Wes, Shaun Luna, Aaron Luna, Blake Luna and Samantha Luna; six great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Services to remember and honor Helen’s life will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, Jan. 16, in the Chapel of Dorman Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be the Rev. David Turner, pastor of Little Cypress Baptist Church. Rite of committal and interment will follow services in Autumn Oaks Memorial Park in Orange.

A gathering of Helen’s family and friends will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
