Funeral services were held Feb. 6 at the Geesey-Ferguaon Funeral Home Chapel for Rufus Hanks, Jr., 70, who died at his residence in Bridge City.

Fr. Clint Trahan, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church officiated the service. Burial followed in Hanks Cemetery in Morse, La.

He is survived by his son, Stacy Hanks and wife Rachel of New Iberia, La.; four daughters, Angela Champagne, Tracy Hebert and husband Joey, all of Loreauville, La., Melissa Crane, of Broussard, La. and Monica Boutte and husband Phil of New Iberia; brother, Larry Hanks, of Vidor; two sisters, Laura Smith of Morse, La. and Wilda Benoit, of Orange; 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Daisy Trahan Hanks and a brother, Elton Reed Hanks.
