The West Orange Cove Consolidated Independent School District is still in the process of reviewing applications and interviewing candidates for the position of Superintendent of Schools. The board of trustees met in a called meeting February 9 and went into closed session to determine who will be in the second round of interviews for the superintendent position.

“We have pared it down from 24 candidates”, said trustee Ruth Hancock.

The process is going according to the calendar set by the board. “Hopefully we will be ready to announce the finalists by early March. We are holding the target date of April 1 to announce the new superintendent”, said board president Pete Amy.
